We take privacy seriously.
What information do we collect?
We collect information about you and your organisation when you complete our AI governance maturity assessment. We collect the following information:

- Your name and job title
- Your contact details (email and phone number)
- Your organisation’s name, size, sector, and location
- Your organisation’s responses to questions about AI governance maturity
> When you visit our website:
- Basic technical information like your browser type and device type
- How you navigate the website (pages visited)
- Your IP address
Why do we collect this information?
We collect this information to provide our services to you – AI governance maturity assessment. We may also use anonymised, and aggregated data to:
- build a benchmark, e.g. as a part of our “your results compared to benchmark” feature
- improve our services, e.g. to refine our assessment or maturity levels.
We may contact you about your assessment results or follow-up engagement.
Occasionally, we may need to share some of your information for support purposes.
How is your information stored and protected?
This website and your assessment responses are hosted securely by a New Zealand hosting provider, which primarily uses its Auckland data centre for its New Zealand customers.
We also use the Google suite, including Gmail for communicating with you.
Google maintains data centres in multiple locations (including outside New Zealand) and are subject to their own privacy and security practices.
We also use other common products from time to time.
We focus on taking reasonable precautions for data security, including using Cloudflare firewall.
Who we share your data with?
Of course we don’t share your email address (or other information) with marketing companies.
How long do we retain your data?
We may retain your information indefinitely unless you request deletion. Otherwise, we may periodically delete your data (e.g. monthly).
Anonymised, and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.
Your rights
To request access to (or correction of) your information, email us at info@aigov.co.nz. We’ll respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than 20 working days after we receive it.
Passwords
Users are responsible for managing their own account passwords.
We cannot access, view, or retrieve user passwords. Password reset requests are handled through secure email links that users complete themselves.
